Running with the motto, ‘A sound mind in a sound body’, physical education is given adequate importance as part of the curriculum at RVGHS. A full-fledged sports wing has been set up, with facilities and equipment for several games, both indoor and outdoor. We also train the students to participate in various competitions in sports such as volleyball, basketball, and throwball, all the way up to the national level.

Houses:

Students are divided into four houses, as is the classic tradition, namely – Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, and Topaz. A spirit of competitiveness is infused in the students, and a leadership sensibility is encouraged. Inter-House team sports are hosted throughout the year. The house that performs the best across the competitions is given a special award in the Annual Sports Meet. The Annual Sports Meet is held every alternate year on a grand scale at the Kittur Rani Chennamma Stadium located in Jayanagar, 3rd Block. Invitees to the event include eminent sports personalities of national and international fame. At the meet, students take part in a plethora of exciting events, from track and field to indoor games. Several rehearsed displays, such as aerobics, yoga, and karate, are put up by the students. Teachers participate in the events as well!
